Game Story — TAURONOS NSP ROM XCI

TAURONS follows the journey of an unnamed hero, known only as “The Seeker,” who awakens in the heart of a nightmarish labyrinth after a catastrophic event plunges the world into darkness. Armed with only a flickering torch and the vague memory of a failed ritual, the Seeker must navigate the labyrinth’s shifting paths to unravel the mystery of his imprisonment and the legend of the Minotaur. The story unfolds through enigmatic frescoes, whispering echoes, and fragmented visions, weaving a narrative enriched with mythological symbolism. Themes of sacrifice, survival, and self-discovery permeate every corner of the labyrinth as the explorer slowly realizes he is imprisoned not only by stone walls but also by the weight of his forgotten past.

The gameplay focuses on solving puzzles using light, sound, and geometry: for example, placing torches to reveal hidden passages or using echolocation to find the Minotaur. The combat system is simple yet intense, featuring dynamic action scenes and chases where players must navigate invisible passages. This Switch version enhances gameplay with motion controls for torches and touch controls for inventory management, delivering a fluid and responsive experience.

This game offers incredible replayability thanks to a procedurally generated maze; while the maze’s layout changes slightly with each playthrough, its core structure remains the same.
